Man of God
Charlie Kirk is a Martyr. A man of God and a warrior for Christ. We think of 2 Timothy 2:1-4 when we think of Charlie. "I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." Charlie was always ready in season and out of season. He spoke words of truth that were not just “political” but Gospel truths. He was a defender of the faith and he was killed because he spoke and preached the tenets of the Gospel. He recognized that we were facing moral decay and turning our backs on God as a nation and He put his faith in action. He didn’t force anyone to listen, but he was simply speaking the Word of God and standing up for Christianity…and he was killed for it. What is perhaps most shocking is not just the public killing itself, but the applause it has received from a larger than thought portion of people. This is not a reaction to “just” a political figure, but to a man whose primary aim was to point a generation back to faith in Jesus Christ. The public celebration on social media of Kirk’s death reveals hearts hardened against God and a dangerous loss of moral restraint. The mask has been lifted: many in the world, especially among the younger generation, do not merely disagree with Christians—they despise the foundational truths Christians live by and revel in their killings. Kirk’s murder and the reactions to it should remind believers that the spiritual battle is fierce and that a shockingly large portion of people have given themselves willingly over to this evil. “Indeed, all who desire to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Timothy 3:12) and “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you... on my account” (Matthew 5:11). Charlie Kirk consistently gave a bold defense for the Gospel and stood firm on biblical truths—convictions that today bring the world’s scorn but are non-negotiable for true followers of Christ. Like the early apostles, Charlie was willing to count the cost and pay the price for proclaiming the truth, even when it meant facing vicious opposition. Those who now take pleasure in violence against men like Charlie heap judgment on themselves, for “woe to those who call evil good and good evil… who are wise in their own eyes” (Isaiah 5:20-21). There is no fear of God before their eyes (Romans 3:18), but let this shocking time serve as a wake-up call to American: “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34). Charlie Kirk’s life and death stand as a powerful testimony: he was not silenced by the devil, but crowned by martyrdom for the cause of Christ—a legacy the Church must honor by taking up the call to fearless faith like Charlie. The victory is in Christ and we will stand firm in the name of Jesus!
