Will Decker's story is not that of your typical missionary. Will grew up with the ambition of being a world-renowned photographer, and he moved from Virginia and enrolled in the Colorado Institute of Art. Photography had always been the driving force in William's life, but when he became friends with Michael Scott during his time at the Colorado Institute of Art the seed of the gospel was planted and he later realized there was more to life than photography. After he graduated from college in 1994 Will moved from Colorado to California to work in the entertainment industry. He first began to work as a photographer's assistant, then as first assistant, gaining momentum in his chosen career Will then began shooting for several companies and he was soon becoming established in the industry. It was at about this time that Will became disillusioned he realized that the fulfillment he sought in the entertainment industry only led to more emptiness. Then in 1998 God intervened when his good friend Tim Scott asked Will to undertake a bold adventure to the farthest reaches of the world. Will, not knowing the Lord, agreed to go and photograph the missionary journey. Three months into the journey William dedicated his life to the Lord and began to preach and speak in villages. It was on this expedition that Will learned the art of third world survival and how to travel in remote and dangerous lands. Venturing out for a second missionary journey in 2000 Will and Tim, now seasoned veterans of extreme expeditions pushed themselves to new limits, and the birthing of the Travel the Road television series took place. The journey took two years and Will preached the gospel from village to village and captured some of his most incredible images to date. Overall Will has shot over 30,000 images on his two journeys and has grown accustomed to and enjoys the life of a fearless missionary. His character is one that now desires to bring the message of Christ to the ends of the earth. Will has realized what his calling is and he desires nothing less than to be on the mission field. Will is an experienced editor and accomplished photographer and uses his talents to encourage and motivate Christians to serve in the mission field's of the world.
