Hunters in Borneo
We are back from the Bush,
and what a great time we had. We ministered to the Penan, hunted and killed a bat, mouse deer, and a monkey.
We had cooked monkey. The Lord opened to us an effective door of ministry in the bush and we got tore up. Leeches were 10 times worse than Laos and the hiking was a nightmare. We walk through a logging encampment that was cutting the forest down and shot some great footage. The Penan received us in like brothers and the Kalibit people didn't want us to leave. The area was mostly Christian, but the nomad Penans are still animist. We hunted every night and spent most of our time in the jungle because it was cooler. Will and I feel a lot better now that we are back on our game, and God is leading us in great directions. We got into Miri last night and rested in a 50 RM hotel that has good beds and great hot water. Our next play is for Koh Phi Phi and 10-12 days of rest; we will break on the beaches of Thailand. Our next push after the white sands of Koh Phi Phi is China and then Mongolia, and then Russia. Right now we are nursing our wounds and trying to book a flight back to Kuala Lumpur. A quick run down of the highlights of our bush journey, 1 week hiking to Pa Tik, hunted for food many animals, watched a buffalo get decapitated, helped stone working children by buy shoes to work the mines,
prayed for many Penan nomads (one couple walk a long distance upon hearing missionaries were in the area, and they sought prayer for healing.), we have taken now just three hot showers and the rest with a bucket, received great revelation from the Lord and are ready for our next move north.
